Adam Perry Lang Comes To St. Louis

Adam Perry Lang is promoting his new book Charred and Scruffed with a visit to St. Louis on Friday, June 15. I have been invited to conduct a chat with him at Left Bank Books, 321 N. 10th Street, at 7:00 p.m. Friday evening.

This free event provides a great opportunity for you to see and hear Adam in person and ask him anything you wish about his new grilling techniques and about his spackles, bastes and finishing salts.

His book will be available for purchase and he will sign a copy for you. You may want to buy an extra copy for your father for Father’s Day!

See you Friday night at Left Bank Books!

You can listen to my interview with Adam Perry Lang, which aired on the 6/9/12 Food Talk STL show, by clicking HERE.

On Saturday, May 19, Food Talk STL will be broadcast from the Taste of Maplewood event.

We will be on air from 11:00 a.m. to noon. The event runs from noon to 9:00 p.m.

During the show, we’ll visit on air with many of the 36 vendors. George Mahe of St. Louis magazine will stop by for a visit.

Listen to win prizes from Maplewood restaurants and bars.

Taste of Maplewood will be held on Sutton, between Marietta and Hazel. That’s just south of Manchester.

Techical Difficulty

As a longtime broadcaster, I know that equipment fails and electrical power goes out. Still, whenever it happens it is frustrating. Happily, KFNS is back on the air and our show will be back on the air next Saturday.

Today (5/12/12) we continued with the online feed of the show via kfns.com. I had great chats with media personality Zip Rzeppa and Gerhard Wanninger (of G & W Sausage). Zip talked about dining at Al Baker’s and the old Tony’s (which was where the Edward Jones Dome is now). Gerhard talked about the tradition of offering customers a can of beer—always Busch Bavarian—while they wait to shop in his retail store on Parker, just off Kingshighway.

The segments with Zip and Gerhard can be heard by clicking the “Past Shows” tab at the top of this page. (We’ll offer our visits with Zip and Gerhard again over the air in a few weeks.)
