Cooked comes to Netflix

Cooked, a four-part documentary TV series based on Michael Pollan’s 2013 book, is coming to Netflix. All episodes will be available for streaming on Friday, February 19. Here’s a preview:

Food Network Christmas Specials!

Food Network and Cooking Channel have several Christmas themed shows you might like to know about. Here are some of the highlights with St. Louis showtimes listed for your viewing and/or DVRing pleasure.

XmasatBobbys

Christmas at Bobby’s with Bobby Flay and friends is set for Sunday, December 6, 11:00 a.m. on Food Network. Bobby prepares a prime rib roast. His guests bring dishes for a potluck gathering.

RosanaPonsino

On Sunday evening, December 6, 8:00 p.m., Rosanna Pansino (who has 326 videos posted on Youtube!) will host Ro’s Tasty Treats: Holiday on Cooking Channel. That’s her above with the reindeer pop.

On Monday, December 7, 7:00 p.m., Unwrapped 2.0: Festive Foods features host Alfonso Ribeiro checking out cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie and candy canes. On Food Network.

Robert Irvine of Restaurant: Impossible brings Holiday: Impossible on Thursday, December 10, 8:00 p.m. on Food Network. In this program, the makeover is at a kid’s camp in the Grand Tetons.

InaGiada

A Barefoot Holiday with Ina Garten (shown above alongside Giada de Laurentis) will be seen Sunday, December 13 at noon. Ina cooks for her husband Jeffrey and friends. Settings include the Berkshires and East Hampton.

Bud And Burgers Championship July 11

You have seen the TV spots that tout Budweiser as the beer to enjoy with a great burger. Now you have a chance to taste the top burgers in the U.S. and enjoy them with a Bud!

Budweiser has been conducting a nationwide contest to pick the best burger to go with your Bud. The champion will be chosen Saturday, July 11 at the A-B brewery in St. Louis. The event will feature an appearance by celebrity chef David Chang (pictured below) who will serve as one of the judges.

Tickets for the Bud And Burgers Championship are on sale now for $20/person ($25 on day of event). To order click HERE. You can sample burgers from all ten semifinalists. You can enjoy Budweiser Signature Draught samples at a frosty 32 degrees. And you can take a selfie with the Clydesdales. The event begins at 5:00 p.m.

The Esquire Network will be filming at the brewery as part of the new show, “The Next Great Burger.” The winner of the Bud & Burgers Championship Finale will also be featured on the show.

Live music will be provided by Matt Stillwell.

Bobby Flay Turkey Day Special Saturday

One of TV’s most popular chefs, Bobby Flay, hosts Thanksgiving At Bobby’s which premieres on Saturday, November 22, 11:00 a.m. on Food Network. Flay and his guests will create a Thanksgiving feast and share recipes and useful tips.

Flay will prepare Roasted Turkey with Mustard Maple Glaze (pictured). Co-host Katie Lee will serve up her grandmother’s Cornbread Stuffing with Herb Butter. Guest Sunny Anderson’s Sage and Pecan Sweet Potato Casserole is an ode to her mother’s sweet potatoes with melted marshmallows.

Choco Pumpkin pie

Alex Guarnaschelli brings Broiled Cauliflower Steaks with Parsley and Lemon. Michael Symon shares his Chocolate Pumpkin Pie (pictured). Other dishes on the menu include Holiday Sangria, Mashed Potatoes with Buttermilk, Black Pepper and Green Onion, along with Katie’s take on a classic Deviled Eggs appetizer.

Following Saturday’s premiere, Thanksgiving At Bobby’s may also be seen on Food Network Sunday (11/23) at 1:00 p.m., Monday (11/24) at 3:00 p.m. and Wednesday (11/26) at noon.

Buy This Restaurant—New Food Network Show

How hard is it to find the right spot for a new restaurant? Ask anybody in the restaurant biz in St. Louis and they’ll probably tell you they looked at numerous sites before making a decision.

A new show on the Food Network shows food and beverage newbies trying to find the right place to launch their enterprises. Buy This Restaurant has a sneak peak tonight, February 3, 9:00 p.m. St. Louis time, on Food Network. The episode will be rerun tonight at midnight.

Keith Simpson, pictured at right, is a Sacramento based restaurant broker who helps show participants find the right place to set up shop. Like many HGTV shows you may have seen, Buy This Restaurant shows its participants three properties. Each has its respective upsides and downsides.

The women in the photo are Lisa and Kelly who look for a location in Minneapolis to start a bakery in tonight’s sneak peak episode. In the second show, which can be seen Wednesday at 8:00 p.m., Keith helps Joanie and her husband Cary find a bricks-and-mortar spot to open a juice business in Austin.
