Our friends at Highway 61 Roadhouse in Webster Groves are holding their 5th annual Crawdad and Shrimp Boil on Saturday, May 11, beginning at noon.
Purchase crawfish and/or shrimp by the pound, enjoy Abita beer (special prices on their craft beers from Louisiana) and live music.
The Zydeco Crawdaddys play from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Willie and the Poorboys are on from 9:00 p.m. to midnight.

The Moonrise Hotel in the Loop introed its New Moon Room at an event last week. Moon Pies and other space related snacks were offered:

The New Moon Room is an indoor/outdoor event space atop the hotel. When it’s not being used for events, it’ll offer food (small plates) and beverages in the evening. Sunday brunch is coming soon to the New Moon Room.

This new book tells the story of craft beer in the US in recent decades. There’s an article, taken from the book, in today’s Wall Street Journal about tax relief for brewers from the federal government, which helped spur the growth.
The title is very similar to that of a book by Barack Obama, so be careful when you download to your Kindle, Nook or iPad!

prasino is located right off I-70 at the 5th street exit. They’re in the same building as the new Tucanos, where the old Noah’s Ark used to be.
prasino is open at 11:00 a.m. each day thru next Monday. Beginning April 30, they’ll open each day at 8:00 a.m. for breakfast.
They’re offering an Earth Dinner (a sustainably sourced Lobster Stuffed Avocado with chili beurre blanc and mango salsa) thru Friday (4/26), with a portion of the proceeds going to Chefs Collaborative.
