FOOD TALK STL show schedule

Food Talk STL will not be heard on Saturday, September 29, as KFNS will carry the Illinois-Penn State football game.

Our show will be on the air on October 6, 13 and 20 at 11:00 a.m. each of those Saturdays.

On October 6, guests will include George Mahe of St. Louis magazine, Chuck Dressel of Mt. Pleasant Winery and Caryn Dugan, a local vegan cook and consultant. We will give away several pairs of tickets to the Soulard Chili Cookoff, which is set for October 20.

On October 13, guests will include chef Carl Hazel of 1111 Mississippi and Beth Huch of St. Louis Culinary Tours.

On October 20, we will broadcast live from the Soulard Chili Cookoff. Guests will include Dan Kopman of Schlafly Bottleworks (and representing St. Louis Originals) and Lisa Lillien, author of Hungry Girl to the Max. Lisa will be appearing on Thursday, November 1, at the new Dierberg’s in Des Peres. (We will be giving away copies of her book during the show on 10/20.)

On October 27, the Illini start early, so no show.

In the meantime, click on the “past shows” tab to hear interviews from previous shows. Click HERE to listen to our recent chat with Gerard Craft.

Saturday, August 18 Show

Saturday, we’ll have a panel discussion show with Evan Benn of the Post-Dispatch and Matt Sorrell of Ladue News Spicy Bits, Feast, Alive and other media outlets.

We’ll discuss a variety of food and beverage related topics, such as: Does the term “food porn” bother you? Toasted Ravioli—should it be celebrated or retired? What are the foods that you will not eat—not Zimmern weird, but things that are on menus? What’s the tastiest dish you’ve had in a restaurant—or from a food truck—lately?

If you’d like to call in with a question or comment, you can dial us up at 314-969-0590.

Saturday, July 28

We wrap up six months of Food Talk STL with a big show this Saturday.

Catherine Neville of Feast Magazine will share highlights from the 2012 “Feast 50,” a list of reader-submitted people, places and things they love from the STL food & beverage scene. (A few on the 2011 Feast 50 list were staff picks.)

Angie Ortmann, who wears many hats, will talk about sharing her love of wine with others. How does a restaurant put together its wine list? We’ll ask the @STLwinegirl, as she is known on Twitter.

Al Carfagna of Mama Gusto’s is a personable guy who has brought his pizza (and other Italian food) to St. Louis. Mama Gusto’s has been a big success in Lebanon, Illinois and now is growing in popularity at 7700 Ivory.
